When an aviation industry professional bought a piece of land to cultivate as a hobby in Uttarakhand, little did she know her passion would soon turn to a full time vocation.
Suniti (Sue) named her garden Serendipity and planted fruit trees. Eventually, the trees bore fruit. Sue decided to try out some traditional jam recipes using her organic produce of fruits. She distributed these amongst family and friends. From that point, there was no looking back. Requests for her gourmet jams, jellies, pickles, chutneys , fruit drinks and sauces kept coming in. Suniti retired from her corporate job and devoted herself full-time to creating Sues Homemade Preserves.
Her orchard, Serendipity, is nestled in a serene pine and oak forest, dotted with wild rose ramblers, golden raspberry bushes and numerous traditional Himalayan herbaceous plants and roots. It’s located in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, at a height of approximately 6000 ft. above sea level, and overlooking snow laden peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas.
